Jaime Cuevas Dermody, Ph.D.
Jaime Cuevas Dermody, Ph.D., is LJH Global Investments' Director of Quantitative Research. Prior to joining LJH, Jaime founded Financial Engineering, LLC (www.fe.net) in 2001,
a firm that creates and sells intellectual property of a financial nature to law firms, hedge funds, real estate investors, broker dealers, and non-financial companies.
Prior to that, Dermody also served as a Managing Director of Quantitative Research for AVM, L.P., a FINRA-registered broker-dealer that trades fixed income and credit-related securities across several funds.
Dermody was also a Senior Lecturer for the University of Strathclyde Department of Accounting and Finance in Glasgow for three years. This position was preceded by an esteemed, tenured career as a college professor at universities including New York University Stern School, University of Illinois at Chicago Finance Department, Arizona State University Finance
Department, University of California at Berkeley Haas
School, and University of Texas at Austin Finance Department.
Dermody began his career with Ford Motor as an analyst and went on to be Director of Strategic Planning for Eastern States Bankcard Association.
He graduated from The University of Maryland with a BS in Mathematics (cum laude) and has earned his MBA and Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Pennsylvania.
